Books on the subject - the good, the bad and the downright misleading - abound. These are a few I’ve found helpful.
Anamchara Books-compiler, Earth Afire with God, 2011, Anamchara Books, New York - a really useful collection of Celtic Prayers old and new (full review on my blog http://pilgrimtraveller.wordpress.com/)
Elizabeth Culling, What is Celtic Christianity, 1994, Grove Booklets, Nottingham.
Oliver Davies and Fiona Bowie, Celtic Christian Spirituality - an anthology of Medieval and modern sources, 1999, Continuum, New York.
Mary C Earle and Sylvia Maddox, Praying with the Celtic Saints, 2000, St Mary’s Press, Winona, Minnesota.
John Finney, Recovering the Past - Celtic and Roman Mission, 1996, DLT, London.
Leslie Hardinge, The Celtic Church in Britain, 1995, Teach Services, New York (dates from 1972, out of print in UK, but I got it from USA via Amazon...this is one of the best resources that I know for the theology and ecclesiology of the Celtic church).
Chris King, Our Celtic Heritage, 1997, St Andrew’s Press, Edinburgh.
(A study Guide for Christian groups.)
Alistair Maclean, Hebridean Altars, 1937, Hodder and Stoughton, London
Kenneth McIntosh, Water from an Ancient Well, 2011, Anamchara Books, New York
(A useful overview of the relevence of Celtic Christian spirituality for today. Some great storytelling and useful themes, if a little sentimental and romanticised at times.)
(full review on my blog http://pilgrimtraveller.wordpress.com/)

(A useful classic book on Celtic Christian spirituality, with some great illustrations.)
Elizabeth Rees, Celtic Saints - Passionate Wanderers, 2000, Thames and Hudson, London.
Fay Sampson, Visions and Voyages, 1998, Triangle/SPCK, London.
(An excellent, accurate overview of people and themes, written by a storyteller. Very readable!)
